Lesson - How to Set-Up A Website Folder

●   Step 1 -  In FrontPage 2000 go to:  File, New, Web.  FIND, BUT DO NOT CLICK ON "One Page Web"  in
                     the "New" Dialogue Box.

●   Step 2 - In the window of the "New" Dialogue Box where it says "Specify the location of the new web:" we
have to determine what to type in order to locate your web folder on your USB drive.

Type Q:\My Webs PCC where "Q" is the letter of your USB drive on your computer.  Then hit "OK."

●   Step 3 - Open your My Webs PCC folder in FrontPage and this is what you will see.

Closer look.

●   Step 4 - Open the index.htm page in FrontPage by double clicking on it and then save it as (billy_m1.htm) in
                    your My Webs PCC folder.

Important!  The index.htm and the billy_m1.htm must be located outside of any other
folder in your My Webs PCC folder.

●   Step 5 - Create another folder (billy_m) in your My Webs folder to hold your other web pages.

●   Step 6 - After you have created a My Webs PCC web folder and saved all of your pages into it, you would need
to find  a company, such as,
Dot5 Hosting to publish your website to the internet.  The web hosting company
will give you the URL or web address to publish to, such as
http://pccasp.org  or
http:www.avon.k12.ma.us.  They may just give you a number, such as,  http://216.147.31.186
     which you can rename later.
