What An Amazing Week 5 -

The Journey Is Far From Over!

  1. Departure Schedule for Saturday, August 9th

On the REVERSE SIDE of this flyer is a memo detailing the departure schedule for the final day of the program.  Every student must be checked out of the dorm by NOON.  If you need to make special arrangements to pick up your student other than the assigned time, a request needs to be put in writing and turned in to Ms. Brooks or Mr. Gill when you return on Monday August 4th.

  1. Semi-formal- Somewhere Over the Rainbow

The Annual PCC Semi-formal will be on Wednesday August 6th.  This wonderful evening calls for “semi-formal” attire.  We cannot wait to see our PCCers dressed up in their finest!

  1. PCC DVD:

To order a copy of the 2008 PCC Program DVD, you must return the PCC issued “MEDIA MAIL” envelope by Monday, August 4th.  Please make sure that you have written YOUR address and stamped it with the $2.23 postage required above the MEDIA MAIL sticker on the envelope.  The DVDs are expected to be mailed out in the early fall to those students who submit an envelope.

  1. Theatre Performance:

The Theatre Classes have been working hard all summer to put together their culminating performance.  It will be on Monday August 4th at 7pm in the Campus Center Auditorium beginning at 7pm.  Parents and guests are more than welcome to come and see this fantastic production.  We ask that you park in the CHAPEL LOT, next to the Kelly Gymnasium

  1. M & M Show:

The Music and Movement performance is Thursday August 7th at 7pm in the Campus Center Auditorium.  Tickets are $7 and the house doors open at 6:30 pm.  ALL tickets will be sold at the door this year.  Come see this amazing show- it is sure to bring you to your feet!  Again, parents and guests are reminded to park in the CHAPEL LOT.

  1. Congratulations:

A much deserved congratulations to our Journalism students as they put the finishing touches on the final edition of Young Voices as well as the 2008 PCC Yearbook.  The artists in Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, and Photography continue to impress us with their talent. Our gifted writers will also be displaying their work in the Creative Writing Magazine that is published next week.

  1. PCC Banquet:

On Friday evening the PCC staff and students will be celebrating their final night of the program together at our PCC Banquet.  Students are asked to wear nice dinner attire (no jeans please).  At this banquet, students will have the opportunity to hear reflections from both students and staff representatives and celebrate their peers at a special awards ceremony.

Subject: Departure From Residence Halls August 9th, 2008

Our goal is to have the Shea-Durgin Dormitory empty by NOON on August 9th, 2008 so that the staff can begin final room inspections and dormitory cleaning.  There is NO graduation ceremony on this day.  This year, as in the past, our Week 6 activities such as the PCC Banquet, Weeper Dance, and final Certificate Ceremony will be limited to our residential staff and students.  We are confident that our final activities will be well received by the students and that they will share all of the details of these last memorable events with you on your way home from campus on August 9th.

The students have been divided into four groups, each with their own departure time.  It is IMPERATIVE that you arrive on campus according to the time assigned to your student.  This will make for an efficient and easy move-out.  We are confident that if everyone cooperates and sticks to the arrival and departure times we will achieve our goal have having all students safely checked-out by noon.

Times are as follows:

9:45                Zinni-Phillips

10:15              Perkins-Krish

10:45              Kruez-Donahue

11:15              Doherty-Abi-Sadd

We are going to ask that you arrive at Shea-Durgin in the normal Friday Check-Out manner.  You can park your car in either the Shea-Durgin Lower or Upper Lots and then come to the dorm to help your student move-out.  Again, to make this process as efficient as possible, we will have our staff members on hand to assist you!

Please also note that the PCC Office will be closed August 12 to September 3.  All medication must be picked up Saturday morning or it will be discarded and any items left behind must be picked up on Monday August 11 between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm.  We cannot guarantee you will be able to retrieve any items after this date.

Please remember if you need to move out at a time other than the one you are assigned, a written request must be submitted to Ms. Brooks or Mr. Gill no later than Monday August 4th when you return to campus.
